“The Book of Life”

RATED PG, Coming out OCTOBER 17th

Speaking of books, we cannot WAIT for the animated comedy adventure, “The Book of Life!” The amazingly gorgeous characters in this movie are unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Producer Guillermo del Toro and writer/director Jorge Gutierrez (who created Nickelodeon’s hit show “El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera,) inspired by the beauty of Mexican art and culture, send the main character Manolo on an epic journey through magical worlds. This fantasy movie not only looks beautiful, but also has a fresh take on pop music favorites with some new songs to jam out to. The A-list voice cast includes Zoë Saldana, Christina Applegate, Diego Luna and Channing Tatum.

If you like journeys to fantastical worlds, another great animated film is 2005’s “Corpse Bride.” The main character Victor is set to marry the beautiful Victoria, but when he accidentally marries the ghost Emily instead, he’s swept away to the Land of the Dead. Will true love pull him through?

This movie is rated PG and can be found on DVD and digital.
