Celebrate Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day, a day to celebrate everything about our amazing planet! Hug a tree, go stargazing, smell a flower, and show the Earth some love today! Here are some simple ways to make the most of this worldwide holiday:

Eat Earth food. Enjoy snacks that come from the earth. Chew some cherries, crunch some carrots, and treat yourself to tomatoes. And if you are eating fruit, pick out a seed and plant it—by the end of the summer, you could have a whole edible garden that grew from a day of snacking!

Repurpose! Instead of immediately recycling boxes and cardboard after they’re used once, why not make double use of them? Use old boxes to build a fort or a robot costume. Make a telescope out of paper towel rolls. Construct a hat out of old cereal boxes. This way, you can get the most (and the most fun) uses out of resources before you recycle them!

Play outside! Dig a hole and find some bugs. Climb a tree. Roll down a grassy hill. Skip stones in a pond. Celebrate all the wonderful things the Earth has to play on and discover!

Keep the Earth healthy. Today, make an effort to be more environmentally conscious! Bring a reusable bag to the grocery store, turn off the water when you don’t need it, and turn out the lights when you’re not in the room. Whether you choose to pick up trash or recycle an old bottle, every positive choice you make adds up to help make our world better.
