DECEMBER HOLIDAY TV SPECIALS

Ho! Ho! Ho! The holiday season is HERE and we can’t wait to watch all of the TV specials that are airing this month. Put on your jammies, make some hot chocolate and get ready to unwrap these five NEW shows that will bring you some much deserved Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza cheer!

“Toy Story That Time Forgot”

Tuesday, December 2nd, 8-8:30 PM ET, on ABC

Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the gang are back for an all-new Toy Story adventure called “Toy Story That Time Forgot!” All your favorite toys from the hit movies are back, like Trixie, Rex, and Mr. Potato Head, along with new characters Reptillus Maximus and Angel Kitty. In the story, which takes place right after Christmas, the toys get hopelessly lost and need to make their way back to Bonnie’s room. This made-for-TV special kicks off our holiday watching season, and will definitely tide us over until “Toy Story 4” hits the big screen in 2017!

 “Peter Pan Live!”

Thursday, December 4th, 8-11 PM ET, LIVE on NBC

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Peter Pan! Allison Williams takes flight as Peter Pan (yes, a girl plays a boy) in the classic tale of the boy who never grows up. Oh yeah, and it’s LIVE! Remember last year’s “The Sound of Music Live!” with Carrie Underwood? This is made by the same people! We’re super excited to see Peter and his adventures in Neverland, along with his friends Wendy, Michael, and John. Movie star Christopher Walken plays the sinister pirate Captain Hook, and look out for the computer-animated fairy, Tinkerbell, who changes color with her mood! This musical journey features classic songs like “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “Never Never Land,” and “I Won’t Grow Up.”

“A Very Grammy Christmas”

Friday, December 5th, 9-10 PM ET, on CBS

If you’re in the merry mood for music, this special is for you! LL Cool J hosts “A Very Grammy Christmas” with all of our favorite stars singing their hits and holiday tunes. Can’t miss performers include Ariana Grande with her new Christmas single, “Santa Tell Me,” and a duet with Big Sean on “Best Mistake.” We’re HAPPY that Pharrell Williams will cover the classic song “Please Come Home For Christmas,” along with a song from his latest album, GIRL. And we’ll be turning the volume way up for more hits from Maroon5, Tim McGraw, and Mary J. Blige! Plus, the musicians will share their favorite holiday memories and what it is like to be nominated for a Grammy. Added bonus: nominations for the Grammy Awards Album of the Year category will be announced during the show!

“Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas”

Tuesday, December 16th, 8-9 PM ET, on NBC

If you love the movie “Elf,” or you can’t stop singing the songs from the hit Broadway show “Elf: The Musical,” then here comes the perfect holiday special: “Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas!” It’s Buddy the Elf like you’ve never seen him before--in STOP MOTION ANIMATION! Buddy is voiced by the hilarious Jim Parsons from “Big Bang Theory.” Other voices in the all-star cast include comedian Jay Leno, The Today Show’s Matt Lauer, and the original Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, Mark Hamill! This hour-long treat for the eyes tells the heartwarming story of Buddy, a human who thinks he’s an elf, who travels to New York to meet his real father for the first time. There are nine songs in the show, which means lots more Christmas music to listen to!

“One Direction: The TV Special”

Tuesday, December 23rd, 8-9 PM ET, on NBC

While all eyes look north this season, we’ve got another direction for you…because there’s nothing more festive than ONE DIRECTION! Harry, Liam, Zayn, Niall, and Louis are presenting us with their first-ever US TV special. BEST. GIFT. EVER! Just in time for Christmas, there will be new performances of their hit songs, interviews with the band members, a look at the boys’ life off stage, and exclusive clips from the recent 1D tour of South America. And here’s to hoping we get to unwrap their new album “Four” this month!

Season’s Greetings!!
