Meet Tristan Maxted!

Tristan Maxted is a musician from the UK, and today, he’s the subject of our batteryPOP New Music Now interview!

batteryPOP: How many instruments do you play? When did you start playing, and did you take lessons?

Tristan: I play around 5 instruments which are guitar, piano, drums, bass, singing, and I used to rock the recorder back in year 6.

batteryPOP:  How do you decide what songs to cover?

Tristan: I normally have a look at what people are listening to at the minute, what's getting a lot of attention then put my own spin on the songs.

batteryPOP: What do you do for fun when you're not playing music?

Tristan: Mostly recording music, or playing football, definitely not homework.

batteryPOP: What is the funniest thing that's happened during a performance?

Tristan: I've tripped over some wires a couple of times and had a microphone hit me in the face making my eyes water, so I had to keep my head down for the rest of the performance just so people didn't think I was crying haha

batteryPOP: How do you prepare for a performance?

Tristan: I normally listen to my favourite artists and think how I want to be where they are now so it gets me motivated.

batteryPOP: What's your favorite pizza topping?

Tristan: I know it will sound strange, but definitely pasta. You don't normally mix the two, but when you do, it's the nicest thing in the world.

batteryPOP: Would you rather play solo or with a band? Why?

Tristan: Both really, I like being solo because I don't have to depend on others as much, but you don't get the vibe as much as you do in a band than on your own.

batteryPOP: Do you have any pets?

Tristan: I have two dogs, Jake and Suzy.

batteryPOP: If you could sing a duet with anyone, who would you sing with and what would you sing?

Tristan: Probably Ed Sheeran or Justin Bieber because they've inspired me to become the artist I am now, so working with them would be an honor!
