The Alphabet Rockers, “the premiere Bay Area hip hop collective for families” [KPFA], is a project founded in 2007 by singer-songwriter Kaitlin McGaw, hip hop theater veteran Tommy Shepherd, and beatboxer Stefanie Liang. They make learning come alive through beats, rhymes and movement! Winners of the 2011 Red Tricycle Totally Awesome Awards and a 2012 Parents’ Choice Award!
Hailing from the Twin Cities, The Bazillions are the brain child of parents/educators/singer-songwriters Adam and Kristin Marshall. Using classroom lessons as their starting point, their vibrant animated videos have received over 1.7 MILLION YouTube views, and their 2013 release Heads or Tales was honored with a Parent’s Choice Silver Award.
Chris Bellew might be better known from the Grammy nominated alternative band The Presidents of the United States of America, but his Kindie Rock persona Caspar Babypants is taking the kids’ world by storm! His simple fantastical stories are perfect for kids and parents alike, and his live shows are can’t miss events for all families!
His friends know him as Danny. The world knows him as the bassist for the mega famous THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS! Anyone who loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse knows Danny’s sound from the show’s opening and closing songs. Hot Dog! Danny’s new album “No School Today” features 8 animated music videos from 8 different up and coming animators.
Latin Grammy winners Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band bring their thumping, bumping music to kids every week with their popular web series (on batteryPOP!) and quirky music videos. Sure they’ve already won a Grammy, but now they want to win the Kindie Crown too!
It’s family hip-hop with a solid gold soul! His albums are a cornucopia of creativity, mixing a wide spectrum of genres into multi instrumental, musically sophisticated, lyrically intelligent house party classics. With an ongoing string of eight #1 hits on SiriusXM, glowing reviews from TIME, USA Today, People and NPR’s “All Things Considered”, rocking sets at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, plus a 2015 GRAMMY nomination, the Skidoo crew is spreading the word and the wordplay far and wide.
For more than six years now, The Not-Its! have rocked kids and families with their up-tempo albums and live concerts that give children their first “rock show” experience. They are Sarah Shannon (former singer of 90’s Sub Pop band Velocity Girl), Danny Adamson (rhythm guitar), Tom Baisden (lead guitar), Jennie Helman (bass player) and Michael Welke (former drummer of Harvey Danger!)
Called “one of the country’s best live bands” by Red Tricycle, The Jamtones are an interactive/ultra powered live band musical explosion and hilarious kid-friendly improv comedy group, all rolled into one. They’ve opened for The Wiggles, shared the stage with Dave Ma"hews, and been a multi-week #1 most played artist on Sirius XM’s Kids Place Live countdown!
