Kids' News: THE WORLD'S FIRST HITCHHIKING ROBOT

hitchBOT, the world's first hitchhiking robot, completed its first cross-country journey last week. Canadian professors created the robot with a raised hitchhiker thumb, a GPS, and the ability to make small talk (using information downloaded from Wikipedia). The robot was designed as an experiment to see if people would pick up a robot hitchhiker. After one month on the road and 3,700 miles, the robot made it across Canada!
