Top 5 Whacky Easter Egg Ideas

Whether you like to use stickers, color with crayons, or go all-out with a Ukranian egg design kit, decorating eggs is an exciting project that only comes once a year. This year, instead of getting stuck in a boring egg routine, why not try something new? We’ve got five egg-cellent and egg-citing Easter egg ideas for you right here!

  1. 5 Scrambled Easter Eggs. Instead of dying the shell of an egg, dye scrambled eggs. Crack each egg you’re going to scramble into a different cup, mix in a different color of food coloring in with each egg, and cook them up in one pan together. Scrambled Easter Eggs are sure to be a hit.

  2. Make your own dye. Lots of food, when mushed up and heated up, can make great organic dye. Some great foods for natural dying are coffee, blueberries, red cabbage, yellow onions, and turmeric.

  3. 3 Chicken Eggs. Decorate your eggs to look like chickens. Glue on feathers, felt beaks, and googly eyes! If you are decorating other types of eggs (fish eggs, turkey eggs, dinosaur eggs), you can decorate your shells accordingly.

  4. 2 Eggshell Planter. You can use an empty half-egg shell as a great place to plant a seed. Poke a hole in the bottom of the half-shell, fill it with dirt, and plant a seed.  The shell will provide a nutrient rich home for your plant. When the seed is big enough, you can plant the whole eggshell in a bigger pot (or outside).

  5. 1 Inside-Out Eggs. Cut hard-boiled eggs in half and remove the yolks. Mix the yolks with mayo and relish, and add food coloring to make the egg more festive. Scoop the yolk back in the egg, put the halves back together, and get ready for guests to be surprised! If you really want to make your eggs colorful on the inside, you can add rainbow sprinkles, although we can’t vouch for how that will taste.
